Plan comparison

What is in each plan

Most limits are hard caps. When you reach one, the platform refuses new additions until you move up, and everything already live keeps working. API calls, and active licenses on a paid plan, can go past the included number up to the overage figure in the table.

Request pacing

The monthly volume above is the allowance. These are the rates a burst is held to — each returns 429 when exceeded, and the month’s allowance stays intact.

The docs explain what counts toward each limit, what happens in an overage band and how request pacing works. Enterprise is priced by quote and billed yearly, by card or invoice. Volumes, integrations and the SLA are agreed per contract: talk to us.

Questions

Pricing, answered

What do I need to start?

An email address and a company name. Every new account starts on Evaluation. It has every Enterprise feature at test-size limits, free for as long as you need. When you are ready to sell, choose a paid plan to go live. Your products, plans and entitlements carry over.

How long does an evaluation license last?

7 days. Each activation or refresh renews it for another 7 days. So an app that connects keeps its license for as long as you evaluate. Every evaluation license carries a mark that your app can read, for example to show a notice. After you go live, the next refresh gives a normal license.

How do I pay for a plan?

In the portal, on the Your plan page. Choose a plan and monthly or yearly billing, then pay at checkout. Before you choose, the page shows how each plan compares with Evaluation. Revenusion, the company behind Oclavex, is the seller; Stripe processes the payment and issues the invoice. Enterprise is priced by quote and billed yearly, by invoice or at checkout.

Are the prices excluding tax?

Yes. Prices are in USD and exclude VAT and sales tax. Checkout calculates the tax for your country from your billing address, and the invoice shows it. EU businesses with a valid VAT number are invoiced at 0% VAT.

When does a paid plan start?

When the first invoice is paid. Checkout charges the card at once, so the plan and its limits apply as soon as the payment succeeds. Each next period, a month or a year, is paid at its start. The subscription renews automatically until you cancel. Going live also moves your account to its permanent home. The move takes a few minutes, with a short pause of the portal and the API. Later plan changes keep everything running.

Are there discounts or promotion codes?

Yearly billing saves 17% compared with paying monthly. Promotion codes from a campaign are entered at checkout and apply for the period the code states. Enterprise pricing is quoted per contract. List prices can change; a change is announced in advance and applies from your next billing period.

Can I change plans later?

Any time, from the Your plan page. An upgrade applies the higher plan at once. You pay the difference for the rest of the current period, and the next invoice is at the new price. A downgrade takes effect at the end of the period already paid. Before a downgrade, the portal shows what you run above the lower plan’s limits. On a smaller plan, its caps apply to new additions. API traffic past its allowance is rate-limited. API clients above its limit pause until you upgrade again.

How do I cancel?

From Manage billing on the Your plan page, which opens the Stripe customer portal. The plan runs to the end of the period already paid. Then the account is locked for changes. Existing licenses and API traffic keep working, with the limits you had. New products, entitlements, users and API clients wait until you subscribe again. Everything you created stays. Payments for periods already paid are final, except where the law requires a refund.

What if a payment fails?

Stripe retries the card over the following days and emails your billing contact each time; the plan keeps working throughout. If every retry fails, the subscription ends and the account is locked for changes. Existing licenses and API traffic keep working. New products, entitlements, users and API clients wait until you subscribe again. Everything you created stays.

Do I get an invoice?

Yes. Stripe issues an invoice for every payment. It shows the company name and VAT number from your billing details. Stripe emails it to your billing contact. Past invoices are under Manage billing on the Your plan page.

Which currency am I charged in?

USD, on every plan. A card in another currency is charged in USD and your card issuer converts at its own rate.

What counts as an API call?

Any request to the REST API. That includes the SDK’s calls to activate, renew, report usage and read it back. Usage reporting is batched and compressed on its way to storage. So detailed metering stays inside the allowance.

What happens when I reach a limit?

Capacity limits — products, licenses, entitlements — refuse new additions; everything already live keeps working. API volume past the month’s allowance keeps flowing at a limited rate, so a spike slows down gracefully. Paid plans have a license overage band with a warning before new activations pause.

What does the plan price cover?

Everything, on every plan. Usage in the overage band is included. API volume past the allowance is rate-limited within the same price. When you need more, move up a plan.

Can I self-host?

The hosted service is the default. Self-hosted or dedicated deployments are available on request, and data residency follows where you run it. Ask via the contact page.

Who bills my customers?

Your billing provider charges your customers, invoices them and follows up on failed payments. Oclavex handles licensing, entitlements and usage metering for the software you sell. Outbound webhooks and the documented Stripe pattern keep the two in sync. The one subscription Oclavex bills is your own, through Stripe, on the terms above.

What does support look like?

Evaluation and Basic: GitHub Discussions and issues, answered on a best-effort basis. Professional: direct email support with a target first response within one business day. Enterprise: priority email and a shared Slack or Teams channel. Plus a named contact, a first response the same business day, and an SLA agreed per contract.
